I visited a chiropractor for the first time ever this past week. It was good. My back's been bugging me for a while, and I've tried a few different things for it, to no real avail. I basically have been told that my back thinks that it's about 20 years older than I really am... Bummer, eh? Anyway, the chiropractor seemed to help a bit, so I'll give that a whirl for a while.
I was reading about a new treatment involving Stem Cell treatment for back injury. Researchers have been using bone marrow derived, mesenchymal stem cells, and inserting them into degenerated lumbar discs to treat back pain. They have had good, reliable results in treating back pain with thses stem cells. They have reduced the size of disc bulges and contained herniations by repairing the back of the disc with adult stem cells. This is done by flouroscopy, without the need for surgery. I don't know much more about this technique at this point, but it sounds worth researching... Have you heard anything about this?
