The reason for the season

We have been doing a really neat Advent type activity this year. Rather than just the little countdown to Christmas calendar, we have a book that has a few pages to read each day, about different Christmas traditions and such, an activity to do as a family (We've frosted upside down sugar cones to make trees, made ornaments, even made our own candy canes - well sort of! :)), and just a few thoughts to direct us back to the real reason for this season. I've enjoyed it, and it's seemed to capture the kids' attention too.... It's so easy to lose sight of the wonderful reason for Christmas!
